Training Courses
About the Training Courses Section
This section is divided into courses for therapeutic play
and play therapy training accredited by Play Therapy UK (PTUK) and other
courses.
Accredited courses
are ones that have been accredited by PTUK and meet the requirements of the
Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists, which is accredited by the Professional
Standards Authority (www.playtherapyregister.org.uk).
These courses have also been accredited through Play Therapy International
(PTI). Courses delivered in the UK are
validated by Leeds Beckett (formerly Leeds Metropolitan) University and in the
Republic of Ireland by NUI Galway (National University of Ireland). The main
training provider, APAC, delivers play therapy courses in the UK in a
collaborative partnership with Leeds Beckett (formerly Leeds Metropolitan)
University and in the Republic of Ireland in partnership with the NUI Galway
(National University of Ireland).
Other Courses are
ones that have been assessed by PTUK as ones likely to be of interest and to be
of a good standard. We are always seeking information from providers of good
quality courses.
Other
Learning Resources are available for users and commissioners of play
therapy as well as for CPD Continuing Professional Development. These include
(or will include shortly):

Training & Resource Providers
Providers of resources for and training in therapeutic play,
play therapy and creative arts therapies are invited to submit details of their
resources, courses and organisations for publication on the PTUK web
site. (There is no charge for a simple listing but we reserve the right
to accept and edit the content and normally ask for a reciprocal link).
