Accredited Training Location - La Mouline
La Mouline Play Therapy Training Centre
The Certificate
and Diploma
courses are accredited by PTI and PTUK. They meet the requirements
for registration on the Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists AR
approved by the Professional Standards Authority. The beautiful, peaceful
environment enables students to thoroughly relax during and after the study
sessions and exercises. There is also the attraction of combining a holiday
with your training with a range of local accommodation ranging from £12 per
person per night sharing a gite to four star hotels. A typical local hotel
price is £40 per night B&B. There are plenty of nearby family attractions.
It is strongly recommended that you rent (or share the
rental of) a car. This will make your stay much more enjoyable through the
places and restaurants that you can visit. Please note that the work is
intensive over the 15 days. La Mouline is in a rural area 10 minutes from the
nearest small town. Taxis are expensive.

Ambiance
La Mouline was built as a small water mill in about 1850. It
was burnt down 38 years ago and stood as a ruin for 35 years. The owners
have completed a sympathetic restoration that combines many of the
original features with the extensive use of glass to take advantage of the
magnificent views. The Play Therapy Training Centre uses a converted barn
as a teaching facility and shady areas of the grounds and other structures for
the experiential and practical exercises.
The Centre stands in 26 acres bordered by a mill stream, set
in the beautiful Tarnaise countryside. The grounds contain a small lake with an
island and rowing boat. There is a heated salt water swimming pool for your
use. Most students have a dip before lunch and at 5pm after the teaching. We
grow all our own vegetables and you will be able to pick fruit that is in
season from a selection of over 70 fruit trees.
Although the nearest neighbour is a kilometre away La
Mouline is only 10 minutes from the charming small town of Realmont which has
an excellent supermarket, 5 bakers, 4 butchers, 2 pharmacies a doctor with
fluent English and 6 ladies' hairdressers! The beautiful city of Albi,
(Toulouse-Lautrec centre), with many hotels, is a 20 minute drive way.
Normally the weather is warm to very hot in July and August
although there can be some cool days. In 20056 temperatures during
teaching hours ranged from 16C to 42C. As a result air conditioning has
been installed in the teaching room!
Travel
Toulouse (Blagnac) airport with budget airline services from
many UK airports (typically £60 return) is less than an hour away. Other
services, including international flights are available via Amsterdam and
Paris. Book early (ie at least 3 months in advance) to get the low cost
deals! The La Mouline Play Therapy Training Centre is approximately one
hour easy drive from the airport.
A second option is to drive. This is an excellent way
of combining your training with a family holiday. La Mouline is
approximately 650 miles from Calais, mostly on the excellent autoroutes.
We suggest that you have one overnight stay en-route.
Local Accommodation
There are many gites, bed and breakfast and hotels within 30
minutes drive of the play therapy training centre. Many of the owners
speak English indeed many are British! Please download our local
accommodation and travel guide document as either a Word Document (HERE) or
a PDF Document(HERE).

To save time and obtain the accommodation that is best for
you please make your booking as early as possible. July and August are peak holiday demand times
and the Tarn area is very popular.
Search further afield if local accommodation is already
booked using the 60 minute drivetime map above. Driving is very easy in
this area with few traffic jams and lovely country roads.
